Facebook’s app and website provide a Groups section that allows you to view the Groups your friends are members of. The platform has built-in features that can inform you about the Groups your friends have joined. In this article, we will guide you through the detailed steps to perform this process separately on the Facebook Mobile App and Desktop Website.

Using the Facebook Mobile App (Android & iPhone)

Step 1: Log in to your Facebook account using the updated mobile app.

Step 2: After logging in, navigate to the Menu tab by tapping the three horizontal lines located at the top-right corner of the Home tab.

Step 3: Look for the Groups shortcut under the All Shortcuts section and tap it.

Step 4: On the Groups page, navigate to the Discover tab, located on the top bar.

Step 5: Scroll down until you find the Friends’ groups section. This section contains a list of all the groups your friends are members of.

Step 6: Tap the blue See All button to view the complete list of your friends’ groups.

Step 7: To view a specific group’s information, tap on it, and you will see its About section. To view which of your friends are members of the group, tap the See All button next to the Members section of the group’s homepage.

Note that Step 7 is only valid for Public Groups. You won’t be able to see your friend’s name in the About Section of a Private Group. We’ll discuss this later.

Facebook’s Desktop Website

Step 1: Open your web browser and visit https://www.facebook.com. Log in to your Facebook account.

Step 2: On the right side of the screen, you will see a navigation menu with several options. Find and click on “Groups” to go to the Groups page. Alternatively, you can click on the Groups icon at the top.

Step 3: On the Groups page, you will see another set of options on the navigation menu. Click on “Discover” to see suggested groups.

Step 4: Scroll down the Discover page until you find the “Friends’ groups” section. Here, you can see a list of groups that your friends are part of.

Step 5: Click on the “See All” button to view all of your friends’ groups.

Step 6: To see which friends are in a specific group, click on the group name to see its details. Then, go to the “About” section of the group and look for the “Members” area to see your friends who are members of the group.

Important Things to Keep in Mind:

We have shown you how to find the groups your friends are in by going to the Groups section of Facebook. While it’s useful to know the groups your friends follow, it would be more helpful to know which friend is in which group, right? As we mentioned earlier, it is possible to do that, but there’s a catch.

You can only see the names of your friends in a group if the group is public. If you visit a private group, you won’t be able to see your friends’ names who are members of the group, unless the friend is an admin or a moderator of the group.
