How to choose the right affiliate program and offer

Source of traffic
For the past several months, I’ve been working with TrafficFactory. During this time, I tested out various networks and carefully considered factors such as GEO selection, traffic volume and quality, and cost per click. Ad format and settings

Creatives

Initially, I had opted for young and glamorous girls, but to my surprise, it didn’t work. It seems that the audience has grown tired of perfectly photoshopped models. So, I started adding more “real” looking girls, and I noticed a visible improvement in click-through rates (CTR). Ultimately, I found that using photos of regular 40+ women in a “home collection” style functioned perfectly.
Interestingly, I discovered that the CTR was largely dependent on the level of nudity in the pictures of women. Suggestiveness and mild erotica didn’t manage to attract the target audience as much as more explicit imagery did.
GEOs of choice
To kickstart my affiliate marketing campaign, I decided to focus on the US market, which is not only sizable but also quite affluent. I conducted various tests and drove traffic to the offers to determine what would work best. Interestingly, every creative concept and approach that worked for the US also proved successful in other countries.
After testing in the US, I expanded my campaign to include several European countries, such as Sweden, the Netherlands, Poland, and Portugal, which I added after two weeks. Towards the end of the month, I also added South Africa, a unique location that I’m still actively working on. Although it differs from Europe and the US, I believe it has great potential for success.

Alternative traffic sources and ad formats
We have already mentioned that TrafficFactory is a very popular source of traffic. However, we would like to suggest other traffic sources suitable for dating offers.
- Social media advertising: with the right strategy, you can attract traffic to offers on Facebook or Instagram since these platforms allow targeted advertising to reach a vast audience. However, you should always keep in mind the fact that there are advertising restrictions on these platforms. For example, TikTok has a moderation process which is quite strict when it comes to dating offers.
- Email marketing: if the user has clicked on your email, it means that they are interested in joining your dating site. One of the benefits of email marketing is that it tells you how engaged your customers are and it is also a great indication of which messaging is working.
When building your own dating affiliate campaigns you should use different ad formats such as banner ads that can help you to reach a wider audience. Push notifications can boost both website traffic and the conversion rate since they pop up on subscribers’ screens, and they are difficult to ignore.
